Marriott Vacations Worldwide Donates More Than 160,000 Pounds of Food Through Annual Holiday Food Drive
Marriott Vacations Worldwide continues to fight food insecurity with a record-breaking donation of 160,000 pounds of food this holiday season through its annual global Harvest for Hunger Food Drive.
From November 1 to Thanksgiving Day, non-perishable food items were donated by associates, Owners and guests at participating resorts, as well as the company’s corporate headquarters in Orlando and offices around the world, benefitting food banks in the local communities they serve. The collective team effort resulted in the company’s largest food donation since the campaign’s inception in 2015, bringing the total lifetime pounds donated over 947,000.
“I am incredibly proud of our associates, Owners and guests who have come together to make this year’s Harvest for Hunger campaign our most successful yet,” said John Geller, president and CEO. “Their unwavering support and generosity have enabled us to make our largest food donation ever, significantly impacting the fight against food insecurity in the communities we serve.”
Marriott Vacations Worldwide’s annual Harvest for Hunger Global Food Drive is one of many initiatives that supports the company’s national commitment to fighting food insecurity. In October, the company donated $15,000 to Maui Food Bank, providing 60,000 meals to local families in need.
